Where do we need help?

We are looking for a passionate Senior Buyer to join our Product Team. The Senior Buyer's responsibilities include developing and maintaining positive supplier relations, preparing retail and pricing strategies, range building for upcoming seasons, managing the buying calendar and keeping track of market trends.


Our new Senior Buyer will need to be confident, highly organised and an excellent communicator with an analytical mind and excellent negotiating skills.


Being responsible for athleisure product ranges a Senior Buyer will be heavily involved in product development and will attend overseas factory visits and inspiration trips for the next season's fashion range.


The Senior Buyer will report directly into the Head Buyer and work closely with the Senior Merchandiser and Product Design Team.


What will I be doing?

  • Develop and maintain a supplier database to strengthen the procurement process.
  • Develop the range's pricing strategies that will deliver budgeted sales & margin.
  • Oversee the selection of the right product mix.
  • Reviewing sales and increasing profit by being commercial minded.
  • In charge of costing products and negotiating prices.
  • Regularly review performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and react to changes in demand and logistics.
  • Attend trade fairs to select and assemble a new collection of products.
  • Analyse consumer buying patterns and predict future trends.
  • Present new ranges to the team.
  • Preparing the full range for the upcoming season. Core products, seasonal core and new products to be introduced.
  • Responsible for choosing Lab Dips and signing off for production.
  • Building buying calendar for Season ahead outlining all key dates that need to be met by design, buying, merchandise and finance.
  • Working in collaboration with the Head of Product, Senior Buyers, Merchandisers and Designers you will be responsible for leading creative and balanced product ranges.
  • Provide effective guidance to junior team members ensuring the smooth running of the product development process whilst maintaining schedules and key deadlines.
  • Consistently ensuring any growth opportunities are identified within the product range.
  • Work in partnership with the Merchandiser to constantly review performance.

What will I need? 

  • Degree in fashion buying or related field.
  • Experience of working closely with suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
  • 10 years experience of working in a Buying team preferably within an International fashion environment
  • Lead by example and live the Make Life Richer culture
